Colour correction procedure

Do you love the shape and design of your eyebrows but the colour just isn't right? You may be able to skip the removal process and improve the appearance of your permanent makeup with Colour Correction alone. Colour Correction is exactly as it sounds, a shift or adjustment of an unwanted colour.

HOW IS BROW COLOUR CORRECTION DONE?

Eyebrow tattoo colour correction is done by Microshading the skin, saturated with unwanted pigment with a carefully chosen comector shade.

Choosing the right corrector shade. Your artist will take into consideration your skin tone. (warm, cool, or neutral) and the properties of your skin (oily skin can affect colour shifting), the composition of the pigments. Corrector shades can be customized to target each specific situation. Corrector is tattooed with a PMU machine over the residues that need to be covered up. This is done gradually, in several passes.

Gradually saturating the area allows the artist to determine the necessary saturation and further correct the colour if needed. Once the colour has been neutralized into a vague brownish, the desired shade can be applied and the brows are given a fabulous fresh look.

Eyebrow PMU colour correction is a shading technique, so, unfortunately, it cannot maintain the definition of microblading strokes. Therefor, the powder brow effect is inevitable, but it can be combined with additional microblading strokes for a combo brow effect.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WOULD I NEED?

On average 1-3 sessions, depending on the age, depth and saturation of the ink or pigment.

WHY DO PMU PIGMENTS CHANGE COLOUR?

The fading process is affected by a whole range of factors and not even the most experienced artist can always predict how it will go.

The most common causes of pigments turning colour and fading unattractively are:

Clients behaviour and aftercare

Certain actions and activities affect PMU results. Exposing brows to sunlight often and for long stretches of time affects their colour and so does sunscreen. A whole range of skincare products can cause colour changes too.

Certain medications and conditions

Should you be taking certain medications on a regular basis, this can cause pigment colour changes over time. Some skin conditions may have the same effect.

Poor pigment quality

With the explosion of the PMU industry, the market is flooded with various pigment formulas and brand and not all of them are created equal. The composition of the pigment greatly affects its colour stability and low-quality pigments are likely to change colour within a short time. Be assured that the Brow Studio uses a high quality pigment that is imported from the USA.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

The procedure takes approximately 1 hour, sometimes less. (We do not rush any procedure).

DOES IT HURT?

There is some discomfort associated with the procedure. A topical anesthetic will be used to numo the area.

WILL THERE BE AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS?

Yes, we will go over your aftercare instructions and send the information after your appointment.

I WANT TO GET BOTOX OR FILLERS DONE TOO, WHICH PROCEDURE SHOULD I DO FIRST AND WHY?

As Botox is in essence a muscle relaxant, if you have Botox before your colour correction procedure, the muscles around the eyebrow area will not be in their natural state and will be constantly moving and contracting as the Botox wears off over the course of 4 to 6 months.

For the colour comection to be most effective, it should be done when your skin is in it's natural state. It is harder for our brow technician to accurately gauge the natural alignment of your brows when your have had Bolox. This means that Bolox should lake place after your colour correction procedure.

Regarding fillers, it is recommended that it should also be done after your colour correction, 3-4 weeks later.

I WANT TO GET ME LASH LINE ENHANCED. CAN I DO IT AT THE SAME TIME?

Yes! Lash Line can be done with your colour correction treatment. Lash Line Enhancement is not 'eyeliner. The pigment is placed in your lash line, at the base where your lashes grow from. This makes the lashes look thicker and darker, therefore framing and defining the eye. The line is thin enough that when your eyes are closed. you are not able to see the tattoo line. The result is a natural enhancement.
