FAQ's - Lash Line/Eyeliner
The Brow Studio focuses on enhancing your natural features. We work mainly on the eye and eyebrow areas to either correct or improve. We prefer to create a natural look as opposed to the "makeup" look.
WHAT IS PERMANENT MAKEUP/MICROPIGMENTATION
Permanent makeup is possible through a procedure called Micropigmentation in which an organic pigment is embedded beneath the skin in the dermis, to add permanent colour. The procedure involves the use of a hand-held device that punctures the skin hundreds of times per minute with a very thin needle and pushes the pigment into the desired location. A touch-up once a year is recommended to retain the shape and saturation of pigment.

What is Lash Line Enhancement?
Lash Line Enhancement is not "eyeliner". The pigment is placed in your lash line, at the base where your lashes grow from. This makes the lashes look thicker and darker, therefore framing and defining the eye. The line is thin enough that when your eyes are closed, you are not able to see the tattoo line. The result is a natural-looking enhancement for a bolder lash line.
What is Traditional Eyeliner?
Thin eyeliner is great for women who want a more natural look but still want the boldness of a line. Even a very thin line can make the eyes pop in a natural, attractive way. This is a wonderful option for women who don't wear a lot of makeup.
Medium-width eyeliner is ideal for women who wear makeup every day and want a look that hovers somewhere between natural and bold.
Thick eyeliner should only be selected by women who wear a significant amount of makeup each day and are ready to commit to a permanently bold makeup look.
WHAT'S THE PROCESS LIKE
PMU is a two-step treatment, consisting of an initial procedure and then a touch-up 4-6 weeks after. During healing, it's normal to experience some pigment loss, this is why we have the touch-up in place. The process is considered to be incomplete until the touch-up has been done. Some people might require more than one touch-up, based on how well their skin accepts the pigment.
I WANT TO GET MY BROWS MICROBLADED. CAN I HAVE BOTH TREATMENTS DONE AT THE SAME TIME?
Microblading is a manual method used to deposit small amounts of ink in to the superficial layer of the skin. It is considered to be a semi-permanent tattoo. Results can last anywhere from 1-3 years, depending on different factors affecting the procedure.
A touch-up once a year is recommended to retain the shape and saturation of the pigment. This a wonderful add-on treatment that you can receive at the same time as your Lash Line Enhancement.
I WANT TO GET BOTOX OR FILLERS DONE TOO. WHICH PROCEDURE SHOULD I DO FIRST AND WHY?
If you're looking to have any Botox or other injections in the eye area, you should definitely get that done before having your Eyeliner enhancement done. You should also make sure you're fully healed at least two weeks before you're scheduled to have your liner applied.
