PRE-PROCEDURAL GUIDELINES FOR YOUR LIP BLUSH/NEUTRALISATION

COLD SORE PREVENTION

  • If you have a history of cold sores or fever blisters, consult your doctor for a prescription of Acyclovir, Zovirax or Valtrex.
  • Commence medication 3 days before and continue for 3 days after the procedure.
  • Fithealth, a herbal remedy for cold sores, is available at Clicks pharmacies.

ANTI-INFLAMMATORY IS OPTIONAL

  • To minimize discomfort during the procedure, you may choose to take anti-inflammatory medication 40 minutes prior to your appointment.

LIP CARE

  • Exfoliation: Several days prior to your scheduled procedure, exfoliate your lips to remove dry, flaky skin.
  • Moisturize: Keep your lips moisturized.
  • Dietary Adjustments: Avoid Omega Oils, St. John's Wort, Ginko Biloba, Vitamin E. Vitamin B3, and Vilamin B6 one week before your procedure.

SKIN TREATMENTS

  • Refrain from chemical peels or microdermabrasion for at least 3 weeks before your appoiniment.

LIP FILLERS

  • If you have had lip fillers, it is advisable to wait a minimum of 3-4 weeks before your lip procedure. By then, your lips will have fully recovered and the fillers will have settled into their final shape.

BOTOX

  • Botox around the lip area, must be done at least 3 weeks prior your appointment. Alternatively 3 weeks after your appointment.

HYDRATION

  • Stay well-hydrated by consuming an adequate amount of water leading up to your procedure.

SMOKING

  • Please inform us if you are a smoker.

TANNING

  • Avoid extensive sun exposure and sunburn on the face, 2 weeks prior your appointment.

LIP COLOUR MATCHING (not for lip neutralisation procedures)

  • Feel free to bring your preferred lipstick or lip liner to your appointment for colour matching.
AVOID 24 HOURS PRIOR:

ALCOHOL AND MEDICATIONS

  • Abstain from alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen 24 hours before your appointment. These substances can increase bleeding and affect numbing cream effectiveness.

CAFFEINE

  • Refrain from consuming coffee or products containing caffeine. This can cause vein dilation, potentially leading to increased bleeding during the procedure and reduced numbing cream effectiveness.
NB: Lip Procedures are a two-step process. A touch up is important and must be done 4-6 weeks after your initial appointment. Extra colour will be added and fill in any gaps where the pigment has not taken.

This is how we will achieve the finial, desired results.

For the most exceptional Lip Blush/Lip Neutralisation experience, please adhere to these guidelines.
