PRE-PROCEDURAL GUIDELINES FOR SUGARING
MADE OF WATER, SUGAR & LEMON JUICE
Sugaring is a completely natural method of hair removal using sugar paste which is a natural product containing only sugar, water and lemon.
- Should you have extremely sensitive skin, we recommend that an antihistamine can be taken prior to and after your appointment
- Do not exfoliate the area that will be sugared at least one week before your appointment. NB powerful exfoliators that contain Alpha-Hydroxy Acid, Salicylic Acid will cause a reaction on your skin
- Retinoids creams should not be used 4-5 days before your sugaring appointment
- Spray Tans and Sun beds must be done 48 hours after your treatment Come lo your appointment make-up free (if possible) should you be sugaring your face
- The day of your appointment. minimize your caffeine and alcohol intake to prevent your pores from lightening
- Women may experience extra sensitivity to sugaring prior or during menstruation
- If you are pregnant, using oral contraceptives or hormone replacement your skin may be more sensitive to sugaring

SUGARING PRE-CARE FOR VERY SENSITIVE SKIN
We do recommend a patch test to be done 48 hours prior your appointment.
- A Hungarian Wellness Mud Masque can be purchased from the Brow Studio - a Mud Puddle Mix will last you a year and can be used as a face mask.
- Mix 1 teaspoon with cold water to reach a smooth medium thickness consistency (adding a few drops of water at a time).
HEALTH CONTRADICTIONS
- If you are taking anti-biotics or acne medication (Accutane, Differin, Relin A/Retinol, Glycolic acid/AHA's, ProActive, Avita, Benzoyl peroxide, Salicylic acid/ BHA
- Use of skin peeling, skin thinning preparations
- Varicose Veins
- Underarms: Mastitis
- Skin disorders or diseases, such as bruising or recent haemorage, Scar tissue {especially recent)
- Warts, Moles and skin tags (these areas can be avoided)
- Fractures or Sprains
- Blood thinners
- Diabetes - some people with diabetes have skin that is very slow to heal
- Sunburn
- If you are receiving cancer therapy (chemotherapy or radiation)
- Smokers or those with Rosacea - sugaring can irritate dilated capillaris
